I composed Juegos del Oráculo in 2016 for solo violin, as a continuation of my exploration of the instrument following Ysayana (2015), my first caprice for solo violin. While Ysayana introduced many of the technical and expressive ideas that interested me at the time, this work emerged as an alternative virtuoso piece, expanding on those ideas in a different musical direction, particularly with a more pronounced Afro-Cuban influence.

Rather than telling a specific story, Juegos del Oráculo explores the idea of an oracle as a metaphor for uncertainty, intuition, and discovery. I was interested in creating a musical journey that moves between moments of explosive energy and passages of introspection, where the performer seems to search for answers that are never fully revealed. Throughout the work, contrasting sections unfold freely, allowing rhythm, color, and gesture to shape the narrative more than any literal program.
